The first place that baby visits should be a Temple! Offcourse excluding the doctor's visits. And this temple visiting is also a part of 12 rituals one undergoes during a life time and it is called 'Nishkramana' ! Aaah I did not know any of this and glad to be learning with Putti. First take the baby to Temple and pray to the Lord to protect the little one at all places she/he visits in the future.
The nearest temple is 40miles away and Putti need to be constantly sung to all through the travel. She hates her car seat;)

ಮನುಸ್ಮೃತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷ್ಕ್ರಮಣ ಒಂದು. ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಇದರ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆಯಂತೆ. ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರಗಳೆಂದರೆ, ಗರ್ಭದಾನ, ಪುಂಸವನ, ಸೀಮಂತ, ಜಾತಕರ್ಮ, ನಾಮಕರಣ, ನಿಷ್ಕ್ರಮಣ, ಅನ್ನಪ್ರಾಶನ, ಕೇಶಮುಂಡನ, ಕರ್ಣವೇಧನ, ಯಜ್ಞೋಪವೀತಧಾರಣೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳು.
