Looking for an easy craft for the kids to celebrate Diwali? Something colorful, fun and non-messy, then we have the perfect answer for you - Diwali Scratch Art. As an added bonus these make the perfect homemade Diwali Cards!!
- Scratch Art Paper
- Wood stylus or wooden dowel, tooth pick, back of a paint brush
- Stencils- I got mine from ItsyBitsy (optional)
They drew fireworks- crackers, flowerpots, rockets etc, diya (lamps), swastik and more.
Then, I showed how they can draw a diya by making a half circle and adding a tear drop over it for the flame. They, then decorated it as they liked it.
And, as luck would have it later in the day, we received a parcel from my mother who sent us lots of goodies for Diwali. It also had these stencils from Itsy Bitsy. Love my amma!!
The girls wanted to try them out and got to the scratching fun again. I used a small piece of tape to hold the stencil to the scratch art sheet.
Aren't the results lovely? I can't wait to try to do more with these stencils with Putti.
For littlest kids, you can cut off a diya shape and they can have fun etching the designs on their diyas. Have you tried Scratch Art? What other Kids Craft are you making for Diwali? Share in comments.
