DIY Clay Ganesha Workshop For Kids

Here's the Clay Ganesha Idol that Putti made at a workshop for kids conducted by a friend.
DIY Clay Ganesha For Kids
Just like last year, Putti has been waiting to make her own idol for Ganesha Festival this year. She did remember things from the past and kind of looks froward to it. So, we did attend the workshop conducted by my friend, though it was on a hectic day. Putti went there right after finishing a 'tree to tree zipline' at our local museum. She was tired, yet wanted to play with clay. Here are some pictures of her molding the clay into balls and snakes which became the head, body, arms and legs of the idols.

There were many other kids and moms at the place.

After seeing other kids add garlands, crown etc for their idols, Putti also wanted to make a garland. So, she rolled tiny little balls and pressed them flat around the neck to form a garland.

After joining the ears and the trunk, she smoothened the idol with a wet brush to cover the cracks.

Here's my girl with her little Ganesha idol.

Here's a look at some of the other idols made that day.

A closer look at them. Love the bright colors of modelling clay, but it sure was very hard to mould.

Love the creativity of these kids. One made a sleeping Ganesha with a mouse which is actually the vehicle of the lord. While the other kid made the lord carry his vehicle (mouse) over his shoulders, isn't the little artist's imagination amazing!!
