Sticky Wall Easter Egg Decorating

This Sticky Wall Easter Egg Decorating is a fun activity for kids of all ages. It is one egg that your little children can decorate over and over.
Just like all mothers I love activities which uses things from around the house and that keep the kids occupied for long time. This activity will have your kids coming back to it over and over. And once set up, you will hardly have any more work/clean up.
You will need:
  • Some Clear Contact Paper (or any single colored ones would work too)
  • Yellow (or any color) tissue/cardstock/foam -whatever you have at hand
  • Painter's /masking/ electric tape
  • Assortment of things to decorate your egg - pom poms, Colored Craft sticksBright Buttons etc
This post was inspired by Sticky Christmas Tree Mural at No time for Flash Cards. Using yellow card stock, I cut out the shape of an egg. Next, I laid the card stock egg on the back of a roll of contact paper in order to trace the egg shape onto the contact paper. Then, I cut the contact paper into an egg shape as well. I then used painter’s tape to first tape the card stock egg to the wall. Then using more painter’s tape overlapped the contact paper egg to the wall right over the card stock egg. The contact paper was put up with the sticky side facing out. I then put out a number of different “ornaments” for them to choose from. This included pom poms, cotton swabs, craft sticks and buttons.
Putti loved decorating her egg with all the ornaments she had.
Here is what the egg looked like when she finished! To re-decorate, just pull them all and start over.
Later in the evening, when her friends came over they loved decorating it too.
This little man aged 18 months stayed engaged at this for quite a long time.  He seemed to be amused with the sticky surface. He loved sticking things on it as well as pulling them off.
This egg has been decorated in a new way each day and several times a day !!
