Easter prints on Foam Plate

Putti enjoyed making some of these monoprints on foam plate for Easter!

The other day, when we made monoprints, I had cut a rectangle from an oval foam plate like this. Later that oval shape made me think of Easter which is right around the corner. So, we tried making some prints by painting on the plate itself. You could use take out food container, meat and produce trays cut in oval. Or can buy these Scratch-Foam® Boards
Putti chose yellow Crayola Washable Kids Paint. I put a little bit of paint onto the foam plate and she spread it around with the roller sponge brushAnd then she drew designs on the plate using a cotton swab, placed a white paper on top, pressed firmly and then lift it off to reveal the lovely print.
This is the print made. Yellow did not show very well on the white paper.
So, she asked for red and I love the color mixing part. She repeated the whole process to make more prints.
Here is thw whole bunch of prints she made with the oval plate.
She then told me she wanted to make some smaller baby eggs. So I cut a smaller egg shape and then she enjoyed her time, painting, drawing and printing..
Here are the small egg prints made on foam plate for Easter.
The Book we read - Henri, Egg Artiste

Henri is a little artist who is looking for new ways to decorate his eggs. He then creates beautiful works in the styles of famous painters like Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, and Claude Monet. This book is a lovely way to introduce children to a world of masterpieces.
