Printing with Pumpkins !!

We printed with pumpkins!!! Isnt this so pretty:))

We came from India on the day before Halloween and I thought we had missed out on our local pumpkin patch which Putti loves. But we were lucky to go on their last day and Putti did get to decorate some pumpkins there with stickers and markers.
But she wanted to more and got some pumpkins home to paint/ decorate. I let her pick some small ones as I was not sure if she I will have the energy to do anything with them for a week with the jet lag and all.

For this activity, I pulled the stem off a pumpkin, poured some crayola washable kids paint in a plate and putti was ready to print/stamp. Love the various fall colors here...
Soon she had all the colors mixed and we had only orangish prints all over the paper.
Here is her finished pumpkin print/painting!  Makes some pretty wrapping paper:)
She had loads of fun with this and wanted to do more printing. So next time I poured different colors in different bowls and put a little pumpkin in each of them. She had a blast printing with them...

Doesn't this little pumpkin look gorgeous too ? :)

I love this! We are going to the pumpkin patch next Friday. I'll have to pick up a small pumpkin for my 3.5 year old to do this. :)

This is an exceptional painting method, especially for children! The pumpkins are just the right size for them to handle. And, I love how several colors can be used for each application, if it suits you. :) So much fun.

My daughter would love how those pumpkin prints look like flowers!

I love the way the prints came out as circles of circles. So pretty!

I'm writing because I run a sensory site and am looking for great ideas for Thanksgiving. And as any parent, we’re looking for terrific Thanksgiving crafts and ideas for kids with Sensory Processing Disorder and on the Autism Spectrum. Would you add a link to a craft idea or two on our blog? Here's the link to share and get more traffic to your site…
