Varamahalakshmi Festival 2011 !!!

Putti celebrated 'Varamahalakshmi Festival' with her grandparents and cousins in India this time.
Varamahalakshmi Festival
Starting in August there are plenty of festivals to celebrate for hindus and it is great to be in India during this time. The market place is filled with various flowers, fruits, decorative stuff and crowded with people buying them all. Unlike the simple pooja and festivities with friends in US all these years, this time Putti loved watching her grandparents do the long and complete pooja process to Goddess Lakshmi (the deity of wealth).
Putti and her cousin Kushi keenly watching their grandparents perform the pooja!!
She loved the sacred yellow thread tied to her wrist by grandma, at the end of pooja :)
And in the evening, she got all dressed up in new clothing...

Happily welcomed neighbouring ladies who visited and helped grandma by giving away kumkum and tambool to them :)
  With her grandma (my mother)...
Having fun on their our favorite swing at my parents house:)
